Do you want to be the next Westmeath Rose?

 

The search is underway to find the 2018 Westmeath Rose and young women aged between 18 and 27 from all over the county are invited to apply online ahead of this year’s Westmeath Rose Selection.

The winner will travel to the International Rose of Tralee Festival where she will represent Westmeath, along with 63 other Roses selected from around the world. They will partake in the one of Ireland’s best-known international festivals.

Reflecting of her term as 2017 Westmeath Rose Eva Cooney from Glasson, Athlone told of the amazing journey she has had during her rein. “Deciding to take part in the 2017 Westmeath Rose Selection was the best decision I’ve ever made. This time last year I could not have imagined what was to come, honestly it’s been the best year of my life. I’ve made countless new friends and have had so many opportunities like volunteering in Belarus and walking in the St Patrick’s Day Parade in New York. I cannot recommend applying highly enough – you have nothing to lose but everything to gain by applying”

The desire to be the next Rose of Tralee is stronger than ever with over 4000 women entering selection events around the world since 2014. Eva was one of the 502 people who took part in qualifying selections in Ireland last year, while another 500 women entered selections in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Britain, Europe and Middle East in 2017.

The Westmeath Rose Centre have said they are delighted with the reaction so far to this year selections and applications are already flooding in. They invite any young ladies who may be interested in becoming the next Westmeath Rose to their information afternoon on Sunday1st April from 3pm – 6pm in the Annebrook House Hotel. This is the perfect opportunity for anyone who has applied or thinking if applying to meet the Rose Centre and the current Westmeath Rose Eva to learn about the selection process or ask any questions they may have.

This years Westmeath Rose Selection is sponsored by the Annebrook House Hotel where it will take place on Saturday 21st April. It is set to be an exceptional night with some very special guests, tickets are available now from Westmeath Rose Centre.
