Mullingar Student Players present their 2018 production, Little Shop of Horrors, from Easter Monday.

It's the rock ‘n’ roll musical classic that’s a delectable sci-fi horror musical with an electrifying 1960s pop/rock score by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman.

Following the huge success of previous shows including Hairspray, The Phantom of The Opera, Miss Saigon and Les Miserables, the Players take on roles such as Seymour Krelborn, a meek and dejected floral shop assistant who happens upon a strange plant, which he affectionately names ‘Audrey II’ after his crush.

Little does he know that this strange and unusual plant will develop a soulful R&B voice, a potty mouth, and an unquenchable thirst for human blood!

As Audrey II grows bigger and meaner, the carnivorous plant promises limitless fame and fortune to Seymour, as long as he continues providing a fresh supply of blood.

Just when it’s too late, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s extra-terrestrial origins and its true drive for world-domination.

Eimhin Fitzgerald Doherty (Seymour), Chloe Purcell (Audrey), Cian O’Farrell (Audrey 2), Ailbhe Mulvihill (Ronette), Caoilfhinn Ni Choiligh (Crystal), and Rain Cleary (Chiffon), who are starring in Little Shop of Horrors by Mullingar Student Players at Mullingar Arts Centre, from Monday April 2 to Saturday April 7 (8pm).
