Westmeath face Meath in weekend football tournament
Westmeath’s senior footballers will embark on the latest leg of their pre-O’Byrne Cup warm-ups next weekend, when they take part in the Fitzsimons Cup tournament in Kells.
Paul Bealin’s troops will take on the old enemy, Meath in the second semi-final at Grangegodden, Kells (2pm), which will be preceded by the first semi-final between Cavan and Offaly.
The winners of each will contest the final later that day.
The tournament is a great opportunity for Westmeath Gaels to see the Maroons line out against formidable opposition under the new 2014 rules.
