Cusack park announces new weekend ticket scheme

Westmeath GAA has announced a new weekend ticket scheme which will see ticketholders get into Gaelic games around the county for a flat rate of €25 per person.

The ticket, which will be available from Cusack Park, will admit the purchaser to all club football and hurling games on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of a particular weekend.

However, the scheme - which was announced at last night's county board meeting in Cusack Park - will not apply to championship semi-finals and finals.

A similar ticket, a €25 family pass, was launched last year, but its inapplicability at the semi-final and final stages led to this newspaper being bombarded with calls from members of the public.

Families with two students, for example, faced a bill of €50 to get into Cusack Park for one afternoon alone.
