Southhill Suzi broke in front in the 525 yds second race and made all the running to score by four lengths from Rentman in 30.47. The winner was recording her first victory on her debut outing for her Delvin owner, Donal Weldon.John J. O"Keeffe supplied the winner of the 400 yds third race with Curryhills Hills which he trains for Kildare owner Martin Gleeson. From a level break he took the lead into the home straight and had two and a half lengths to spare at the line from Endas Chieftain on 22.08.Alamo Shockanaw came into the 525 yds fourth race from the reserve panel and duly did the business for her trainer, Vincent Leavy and Westmeath owner Mrs Ita Carr. After taking control on the early stages, she gave a smashing front-running display to win by three lengths from fast-finishing Snooker Bluestar in 30.15. Kells trainer, Susan Price supplied the winner of the 400yds fifth race with Perfect Price which she trains for Naas owner Stephen Buckmaster. Having been unlucky in her only one previous outing, she made no mistake on the night when she popped out in front and made all the running to score by one and a quarter lengths from Cathermore Tucks in 22.00. Patrick Tormey supplied the winner of the 525 yds sixth race with Charity Noble which he trains for Mullingar owner Justin Farrell. From a fast break he held pole position all the way to win by one length from Home Misty in 29.99.Aranock Roy broke in front in the 400 yds seventh race and gave a powerful front-running display to win by six lengths from Desisters Lady in 21.77. The winner is owned in Ballinagar (Tullamore) by Ms. Carmel O"Meara. Big Treat broke in front in the 525 yds eighth race and led into the home straight where Frank The Barber came from off the pace to claim victory by one and a quarter lengths from Glanmore Tornado in 30.35. The winner is owned in Mullingar by Anthony McMahon.From a level break in the 400 yds ninth race, Springwell Hero took the lead rounding the bend and went on to win by two and a half lengths from Peppered Sprout in 21.72. This well supported favourite is owned in Athlone by Denis Hannon. The best return of the season was posted in the 525 yds tenth race by Libertys Desire which is owned in Killucan by Miss Vivienne Murtagh. This five to four favourite broke in front and made every yard of the running to score by an extending six lengths from Alamo Falcon in 29.53.In the 600 yds eleventh race Ardavagga Dancer broke in front and held off the challenge of Artful Nelly all the way to win by one length in 34.13. The winner is owned by the Barcelona Syndicate (Slane).Athlone owner, Denis Hannon recorded a rare treble at the meeting when his three runners with the Springwell Prefix Dill Fiety and Ben all came up thrumps.Springwell Dill was first to strike in the sixth race having been led for most of the journey by Weezie or What. She finished very strong to win by a short head verdict in 20.65.Springwell Fifty continued the winning run for the Athlone Kennel when he produced the goods from a lively start to win heat three by a length and a quarter from Stage Hoburn in 21.60.Springwell Ben landed this remarkable treble when he finished best to win by a length and a quarter from early leader, Oh My Oh Me in 21.60.Tahina Speed owned by Jason Croarkin (Fermanagh) and trained by Vera Croarkin was always in command as he powered home six lengths to the good from Knocknaeyre Jack to win heat four in 21.47.Racing opened with a win for the Frank Seery-trained, Strand Reta who made all the running to win by a length and a half from Jets Quest in 33.91. The winner is owned by Noreen Seery (Mullingar).In a top class second race over the 525 yds course, the Tina McGrane-trained Dot Dash really excelled over this useful field when leading home by a length and three quarters from Lolos Dancer in 29.77. The winner is jointly owned by Nicholas Power and Kieran Hanlon (Meath).Enfield trainer, Carmel Finnegan also achieved a double at the meeting when her two runners, French Katie and Buachaille Eile did the business in the fourth and eleventh races.Mendo made the early running in the fourth race but it was French Katie owned jointly by Dr. P. O"Kelly and Karl O"Sullivan that finished best to win by two lengths in a useful 29.60 clock.Buachaille Eile raced into an early lead to complete a double for the Finnegan Kennels with a one and a quarter lengths victory over Tahina Sonic in 31.14. McCormacks (Offaly) owned Fahy Angie was unopposed in the betting in the tenth race where she led all the way to score by three quarters of a length from fast finisher, Toorphelim Lady in 29.60.
