Kilbeggan student is elected to Junior Council

Conall Ennis, a Transition Year student from the Mercy Secondary school Kilbeggan was recently elected to represent Kilbeggan and the school on Westmeath junior county council.Conall is a member of the Labour party. The inaugural meeting of the junior council took place on January 28 at the Greville Arms in Mullingar.'The junior council is a great opportunity for me to represent my local area, the Labour party and my school in an environment where wisdom and words can be turned into actions,' he said.'It"s a great way for young people"s views and opinions to be heard and taken into account.'Youth ClubLeaders of Kilbeggan youth club are having a training course this Tuesday February 3 at 8pm. in Scoil an Chlochair, Kilbeggan. Any interested parents wishing to be leaders or helpers please come along.Football trainingKilbeggan and St. Joseph"s junior football club met recently to plan for the forthcoming season. Training will commence shortly at Streamstown Pitch for under eights and tens on Fridays at 6pm with under twelves and fourteens at Kilbeggan pitch on Saturdays at 10am. There was a great attendance at the meeting and a number of coaches for each category were selected.
