Ballymore NS Would anyone wishing to send their child to Ballymore N.S this coming September please contact the school secretary between Monday and Friday 9.20am - 3pm for application forms.The closing date for all applications is Tuesday 31st March 2009.Date for your diaryBingo to raise necessary funds for the school will be held on Monday 16 March 2009.Community Games5 aside SoccerThe Ballymore U/13 team played in a cold and wet Gainstown last Sunday and while they all played extremely well and scored 2 goals they were beaten 3 - 2 by Castlepollard. Both Ballymore goals were scored by Kevin Cuffe.SwimmingLocal swimming gala takes place Friday 27 February 2009 at 6pm at the Regional Sports Centre.Fund RaisingThere is a fund raising night planned for Cunningham Pub on Saturday 7 March.  Music by Liam Fagan & Co.  Tickets €3 each or 2 for €5.  There will also be a raffle on the night. Your support would be greatly appreciated.Youth ClubMeetingA regional meeting of the Regional Club Executive Committee for all Youth Clubs takes place next Monday 2 March in MRYS Mullingar at 8pm. Ballymore Youth Club are requested to send two representatives to this meeting.  NOTE: this is not an AGM so there are no jobs going! If you are interested/available to attend please call or text Esther Cuffe 0872523662 before Friday 27 February.  Agenda for the meeting will be available at the Youth Club Thursday night.Soccer TournamentBallymore Youth Club are entering a team into The Galway World Cup Soccer Tournament. This is a 2 day national weekend in June for young people between the ages of 14 years and 16 years. CookingCooking lessons went down a treat last Thursday night. The girls baked muffins which were delicious.  This week it"s the boys" turn, and each must have a permission slip signed by a parent with them. No-one will be allowed take part without a signed permission slip.Pass it on TrainingThis training for teenage members starts on Thursday 26 February from 6 to 8pm. We would ask as many teenagers as possible to attend this training. Pass It On - is a substance abuse prevention program aimed at reducing and preventing substance abuse among young people.This is an age appropriate program. Please bring your signed consent form on the 26th. Extra consent forms are available from Esther Cuffe.Westmeath Rural CommunityThe board of Westmeath Rural Community Transport Association has recently obtained funding for groups wishing to travel to special events.The type of groups eligible for this funding would be those catering for the disadvantaged or the elderly. Transport to events such as Mullingar Greyhound Track, Kilbeggan races or similar would qualify.Should anyone in the area wish to avail of this service please contact either Joe Flanaghan or Patrick McGleenan (board members) for more information.Rest in PeaceOur sincerest sympathies are extended to the family and friends of Bill Ellife, Ellen Masterson and especially the parents of Sarah (Muchie) Mahon all of who passed away recently may they rest in peace.
