Mullingar RFC's Under 13s and 14s in Leinster Finals

A good week for our youths with the Under 14s going to Navan last Wednesday and beating Navan by 66-14 in the semi- final of the Cup. It was a very emphatic victory and a great all round display by all the boys. They now will meet North Kildare in the Cup Final probably on Saturday, April 24. Having lost by 10-5 in the Leinster League final to the same opposition I am sure that the lads will be seeking to reverse the result of that final. Our Under 13s played Edenderry in the semi-final of the Plate Competition on Saturday and again another emphatic victory by a margin of 55-7. The Under 13s will face Kilkenny in the Plate final, which will also be on April 24. Hopefully we will get the two games played at the same venue.Next Friday night our Under 12s travel to the RDS where they will be playing in the interval during the Leinster v. Ospreys Magners League game.On Saturday next our Under 11s travel to Kilkenny to take part in the Leinster Under 11s Blitz and on Sunday the 10s and 11s travel to Longford for a friendly Blitz. Training as normal for all other teams. The same evening the Midlands Area Under 17s team will be presented with the Shane Horgan Cup after winning the inter area competition. Four of our Under 17s, Paul Maxwell, Eoin Gantly, Larry Racinskas and Luke Peppard were in the squad.CongratulationsCongratulations must also go to two of our former youths, Conor Gilsenan and Gearóid Ó Súilleabhán who played on the Irish Schools Under 18s side in a tournament involving Ireland, Wales, England Scotland and Italy, which was held in Wales over the last two weeks.
