ioqe... say it, "yo ka".

Enjoy LIFE this sunny weekend!

Olga AugheyIt's all kicking into life this weekend, as the LIFE Festival opens on Saturday and runs till Monday May 27 along the beautiful lakeshores of Lough Ennell at Belvedere House and Gardens. The first band to open the main stage is a Meath one (no jokes please!), called ioqe (pronounced, yo ka), who won a competition which the fine people of the LIFE Festival recently ran.Out of many musicians, bands and performers, ioqe stood out after submitting their original material.Based in Templewood Studio in Dunsany, the group are Anne Harrington on vocals; Jean Harrington on cello and backing vocals; Adi Sharma, tabla/ hand drums; Dustin Genentz, producer/DJ; and Michael Price on guitar, keyboards, vocals.Of course there's going to be the cream of the crop there also, including KingKong Company, Mathias Tanzmann, Jamie Jones, Ace Ventura, Cosmin Trig and Lovebirds. And as they say, Life is a party and the party is Life - so see you there!
