Heartbreak for Shaw and Brown

There was heartbreak for Team Ireland at the Velodrome in London this evening, as Irish paracyclist James Brown and his sighted pilot, Mullingar's own Damien Shaw, missed out on a bronze medal by just over two seconds. After coming fourth in the Men's Individual B Pursuit qualifier earlier today, Brown and Shaw faced Spain's Miguel Angel Clemente Solano and his pilot, Diego Javier Munoz, in the bronze final at 5pm.After a nervous start, the Irish pair built up a three-quarters of a second lead over their Spanish opposition, but tired legs became a factor in the final three laps of the race, as Solano and Munoz pulled away to win by 2.06 seconds.
