Livemicsworld offers artists their chance

Livemicsworld celebrated its launch night in the Stables, Mullingar on Friday June 28, when a band, three singer/songwriters and a few comedians performed for a small but enthusiastic crowd, but Michael Kiernan, the man behind Livemics, hopes to see a larger number attending in the future.

Livemics presents the original artist, whether a band, singer/songwriter, comedian or a DJ, the opportunity to perform their material on stage.

Although this year is a trial run, Michael hopes to see it become an annual event.

If all goes according to plan, a small number of acts will be at the Stables every week and at the end of the year the best artist will be chosen after a competition.

Artists will be rated on the Livemics social network site by members and on the night when audience members using voting cards. The winner will receive a recording contract at Grouse Lodge recording studios.

There has been a great response from artists, and Michael has received original material from 140 artists. Only 45 were chosen to perform, so you can expect high-quality original material from up-and-coming artists if you attend a Livemics night.

Michael says that the original artist is not getting enough exposure nowadays and Livemics hopes to change that by giving them exposure and providing them with the tools to promote themselves.
