Musical memories from Rochfortbridge students

St Joseph’s Secondary School, Rochfortbridge, is getting ready for A Night at the Musicals, from Wednesday December 4 to Saturday December 7.

Around 90 students are working hard on preparing for the performance which will highlight favourite musical memories, from My Fair Lady’s I Could Have Danced All Night, to Oliver’s Hard Knock Life.

Currently the school’s gymnasium is being transformed into a “grand theatre royal” ahead of opening night.

“First years to Leaving Certs are all involved and they are really enjoying the rehearsals,” said teacher Yvonne Muldoon.

“We are currently building the stage, which will be in the gymnasium, and there are about seven teachers on board, but as the time draws closer, it will be all hands on deck,” Yvonne added.

“It’s a compilation of everyone’s favourite musicals so it’s guaranteed that everyone will have a fun time at the show.”

It’s being choreographed by Anne Marie Bentick, and tickets cost €10 and are available from St Joseph’s now, or by calling, 044 9222176.
