Conor to make start in european quarterfin

Mullingar rugby star, Conor Gilsenan is facing into one of the biggest games of his life this Sunday.

He has been selected to start in the back row as his London Irish side face the mighty challenge of Scottish giants, Edinburgh in the quarter-final of the European Rugby Challenge Cup.

Conor, a former Irish U20s captain, who led Clongowes Wood College to Leinster Schools success, has been getting significant game time in recent weeks and featured prominently in the Exiles most recent success against Newcastle Falcons.

This is undoubtedly London Irish’s biggest game for some time with Edinburgh being among the strongest sides remaining in the competition. However, the fact that they have to travel to the Exiles’ Madejskil Stadium for the 5.45pm showdown on Sunday should be worth points to the home side and if they can hit top form, a place in the semi-final can be secured.

Local rugby afficionados will be delighted to know they can follow Conor’s and the Exiles progress on BT Sport from 5.30pm.
