Met Éireann are forecasting a wet weekend to welcome the arrival of summer.

Widespread wind and rain look set to overshadow most of the May Bank Holiday weekend.

On Saturday, up to 15mm of rain will fall, while gusty conditions will prevail.

More thundery showers are expected on Sunday, where a further 20mm of rain could fall.

Monday looks to be the best of the weekend, with sunny intervals, and highs of 11 to 15 degrees predicted.
