No sign of the exam weather this week

An update from Met Éireann

According to Met Éireann, tomorrow – when the Leaving Cert starts – will be mainly dry, but there’s no sign of the notorious ‘exam weather’ at the minute.

The forecasters say that on Wednesday, “winds will be light westerly and temperatures will reach 15 to 17 degrees”.

It doesn’t get a great deal better either, as the outlook “contains a good deal of uncertainty, but early indications suggest that it will become milder, with a good amount of dry weather”.

From met.ie:
Today
Outbreaks of rain and drizzle this morning, but some bright spells too. The rain will clear northwards through the morning and it will be drier and brighter in the afternoon with sunshine, and showers becoming more and more isolated. Light south to southwest winds will increase moderate to fresh southwest to west as the day goes on, becoming strong for a time in mid afternoon. Highest temperatures 12 to 16 degrees, coolest in the north.

Tonight
Winds will ease steadily through the evening and will fall light to moderate southwest overnight. It’ll be a mainly dry night with just isolated showers in the west and northwest. Lowest temperatures 6 or 7 degrees.

Tomorrow
Tomorrow, Wednesday, will be mainly dry with sunny spells and just isolated showers. Winds will be light westerly and temperatures will reach 15 to 17 degrees

Outlook
Wednesday night will be mainly dry with light variable breezes and temperatures down to between 6 and 8 degrees.

There will be a good deal of dry weather for Thursday but a band of rain will push up against Atlantic coasts, and could be heavy there for a time, but it will break up as the day goes on. Most other parts of the country will be dry with some sunshine, and temperatures will range between 15 and 17 degrees generally, possibly warmer in the southeast and cooler along the Atlantic coast in the rain. Winds will be mainly light and from a southerly direction.

Friday will see further spells of rain for a time in the west but otherwise it will be a day of sunny spells and scattered showers. Winds will be light southeasterly becoming light to moderate from a southwest direction and temperatures should be around normal for the time of year, and warmest in the southeast.

Saturday currently looks to be a little cooler with sunshine and showers again in a freshening southwest flow.

The further outlook still contains a good deal of uncertainty, but early indications suggest that it will become milder, with a good amount of dry weather.
