John joe nevin case adjourned to november
Olympic boxing hero, John Joe Nevin, has had a violent disorder charge against him adjourned to October.
Mr Nevin of 6 St Anthony’s Cottages, Mullingar, appeared before Judge Seamus Hughes at the district court in the town this morning.
He was one of five defendants due before the court in relation to a large disturbance in Mullingar last April.
Mr Nevin was charged, with others, with committing violent disorder in Dominick Street on April 6.
Sgt Damian Connaughton gave evidence of arresting him prior to the court sitting and charging him. He made no reply to the charge.
Solicitor Trish Cronin, who appeared for Mr Nevin, acceded to a request from Inspector Jarlath Folan, for the DPP, for an adjournment to October 1.
