Mullingar girl Michaela ready for Voice knockouts

This Sunday April 3 sees Mullingar girl, Michaela Hogg, in the last of the live knockouts of The Voice of Ireland.

“You want to do it for Mullingar, but you just want to have fun and enjoy it while you’re out there,” Michaela commented this week.

The excitement is building ahead of Sunday’s performance with the rockabilly singer posting pictures of Dublin’s Helix stage on social media while in rehearsal.

Michaela was a steal for Voice coach Una Fodin and she is hoping that Una will put her through to the quarter finals next week with her song, Tainted Love by Gloria.

“Support in Mullingar is brilliant,” continued Michaela, who added that friends and family in the town have backed her all the way.

Originally, Bressie turned his chair around for Michaela, but was stolen by Una after a poor song choice by the Mullingar man, who gave her an Elvis song to sing.

The last of the live knockouts is where all the power lies with the coaches. The three final contestants from each team will take to the stage in Dublin’s Helix Theatre hoping their performance will convince their coach they have what it takes to make it to the Quarter Finals.

Best of luck Michaela!
