Stunning pic shows Crookedwood home from 100 years ago

This stunning photograph gives a peek into the Westmeath of more than a century ago.

Featuring on the National Library of Ireland's Flickr account, it is captioned “Biddy Gray's Crooked Wood, Mullingar”.

Note the half door, the black cast iron pot, the tin bucket - all artefacts from a not so far distant past.

From the Lawrence Photograph Collection, and shot by photographer Robert French, it dates from some time between 1865 and 1914.
