Participants in the Cycle Against Suicide arrive on Mount Street the last time the route included Mullingar.

Cycle Against Suicide organisers seek hosts for participants on May 6

The Cycle Against Suicide is coming through Mullingar again this year and the organisers are asking for anyone in a position to offer participants a place to stay to get in touch.

The first Cycle Against Suicide was in 2013, and its 2015 route included Mullingar. This year, on Sunday May 6, it returns.

An integral part of the cycle is the homestay programme, where people open up their homes to cyclists, providing them with a meal, a chance to freshen up, and a bed for the night.

If you are able to offer a cyclist or two (or more) a home for the night of Sunday May 6, call 085 223 6142 or email hsmullingar@gmail.com.

In practical terms, the organisers need you to collect your cyclists at St Finian’s College that evening, provide a home for them for the night, and take them back to St Finian’s the following morning.

“Nothing too fancy in terms of food or accommodation required; just a home from home,” said a spokesperson.

If you think you can help, or have any questions about the homestay programme or the Cycle Against Suicide, please get in touch.

It is a way to support our work without ever having to get on a bicycle!
