Dáithí Ó Sé 8/13 to be squatted by a Rose live on RTÉ – and it will probably be the Westmeath Rose!

The Rose of Tralee is known for its Roses displaying weird and wonderful talents on TV and this year is expected to be no different as Westmeath Rose Leanne Quinn has promised to showcase an unusual talent should she make it on stage; squatting presenter Dáithí Ó Sé. (Continues below image.)

The 24-year-old personal trainer has launched ‘Project Dáithí’ and having already squatted a judge at the Westmeath selection night, BoyleSports have made it 8/13 that Dáithí will in fact be squatted by a Rose on stage at this year’s Rose of Tralee.

Never one to shy away from getting involved with the Roses and their acts, Dáithí is 7/4 to potentially fall victim to one of the more weirder party tricks and end up wearing women’s clothing on stage.

Among the 57 Roses are a host of dancers who are sure to serve up a jig or two across the televised nights on RTÉ and it is red hot odds of 1/10 that Dáithí will showcase his moves by dancing on stage.

London Rose Grainne Hawkes remains the firm favourite to be crowned the 2018 Rose of Tralee ahead of the festival, despite a slight drift out to 11/4 from 5/2.

Aoife Heffron, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: “We all know Dáithí Ó Sé is always up for a laugh with the Roses on stage, but hopping on a Rose’s shoulders and letting her squat you on live TV in front of thousands may be a stretch.

“Not according to the odds, however, as it is 8/13 Dáithí will be squatted by a Rose on stage – let’s just hope it is Westmeath Rose Leanne Quinn, who has put the training in and already squatted a judge!”
