All choirs invited to get together in one-off Cathedral Mass

The Cathedral of Christ the King in Mullingar is inviting all adult parish choir members and musicians in the town to join together for an evening Mass on Saturday 2 March.

“This will be the first time, as far as I can tell, that everyone who helps out with music in Mullingar parish will be in the one place at the one time,” said Arthur Fallon.

The invitation includes all music volunteers in St Paul’s Church, the Cathedral, Brotenstown, Gainstown and Walshestown.

A member of the newly formed Parish Pastoral Team, Arthur Fallon is also a long time member of the Cathedral Choir.

“I’ve talked to Will Woods, the director of Sacred Music at the Cathedral, and we are really looking forward to the Mass,” he said.

“It will bring together the combined talents and enthusiasm of many people.”

The local clergy want the occasion to be an opportunity to express thanks to adult choir members and musicians who give their time generously to the parish.

The success of the recent ‘Sound of Unity’ concert and anticipation of the Fleadh coming to Mullingar have also prompted this initiative.

All are invited to refreshments after the Mass, in the Cathedral on Saturday March 2 at 6pm.
