It may look bleak peering out your window this morning, but according to national weather forecaster Met Eireann, “long dry spells” will develop as the day progresses and “perhaps a few bright spells” too.

The start of the day however will be “mostly cloudy and rather misty” with patchy rain and drizzle, which will chiefly affect the north and east of the country.

Beyond that though will see highest temperatures in the region of 16 to 19 degrees, in moderate west or northwest breezes.

Tonight then will be much like the morning: “Mild, humid and rather misty tonight” with occasional outbreaks of light rain and drizzle.

Minimum temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees, again in light westerly breezes.
