Former rugby star home for family reunion with parents
The former Irish rugby international Trevor Brennan was in Mullingar last week with his parents, Rory and Iris, for a family reunion.
Iris is a native of Springfield, Mullingar and when she was back in the town, she visited Ballyglass cemetery to pay her respects to her mother and father.
Chatting to the Westmeath Examiner, Rory and Iris explained that she left Mullingar in 1967, and went to work in the hospital in Blanchardstown.
After getting married in Clondalkin, in 1970, Rory and Iris went to Toronto, Canada, worked in the general hospital there.
Trevor Brennan was capped 13 times for Ireland. He is now an international coach and TV and Radio commentator.
