New Forest ladies raise funds for North Westmeath Hospice

The members of New Forest Golf Club’s ladies section have raised €1,000 after their recent’ Play in Pink’ fundraiser.

On Monday September 14 the lady members of the club organised a three-ball scramble with monies raised donated to North Westmeath Hospice. With favourable weather, a good number of ladies and men turned out to play in various shades of pink.

A delicious burger on the tenth tee box was most welcome, thanks to Jimmy and the catering staff who looked after everyone well on the day.

Some good scores posted and the winners were:

1st – Ronan Keane, Donal Meehan and Eamonn Kennedy;

2nd – Peadar Conlon, Dylan Carton and Eunan Duignan;

3rd – Catherine Groome, Frank Groome and Declan Rogers.

A cheque to the value of €1,000 was later presented by Lady Captain Mary Daly to Margaret Claffey, Chairperson of North Westmeath Hospice.
