Online lecture on local War of Independence research

Westmeath Archaeological and Historical Society hosts its second online lecture this coming Wednesday, November 11, at 8pm.

Dr Paul Hughes is the speaker, and he will explore the resources available in various repositories and online, especially the military service pensions collection, which enables local historians to delve deeper into this formative episode in our history.

The meeting will be on the Zoom platform and links can be obtained on the society’s website www.whahs.ie, or on the society’s Facebook page.
