Cooney announces changes to backroom team for 2021

Westmeath manager Jack Cooney has made changes to his backroom team for 2021.

In a statement issued on Monday night, Westmeath County Board said: "Jack Cooney will be looking forward to the 2021 season with great hope as Westmeath begin their 2021 campaign in a couple of weeks following a steady league season last year which brought us to the brink of promotion to Division 1. Our championship performance against Dublin will give us much heart as we continue to bridge the gap between us and the six in a row champions.

"Ahead of the new season, Jack Cooney has made some changes to his backroom team with the introduction of Ken Robinson. Fresh from completing four in a row with Dublin ladies under the management of Mick Bohan, Ken also has vast experience in coaching with DCU, Dublin hurlers and Ballymun Kickams. Rejoining the coaching and management team is a man needing no introduction, Cathal Mullen. Cathal, a great servant to Westmeath and Garrycastle, rejoins after first being involved two years ago.

"Excitement is building within the setup for another positive league campaign which starts at the end of February. We would like to wish all the best of luck for the upcoming season."
