Driving test pass rates revealed

Just over half of the people who took their driving test in Mullingar passed in the first 10 months last year.

According to the latest figures from the Road Safety Authority (RSA), 51.3 per cent of local learner drivers passed their test in Mullingar.

Nationally, the pass rate was slightly higher at 51.9%. In total, 29,382 drivers took their tests between January and the end of October, a significant reduction on previous years due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Thirty seven of the 50 test centres dotted around the country had a pass rate of more than 50 per cent.

The centre with the highest pass rate was in Clifden (68.9%), followed by Cavan (66.6%), Monaghan (64.5%) and Longford (62%).

Shannon had the lowest pass rate (42.7%), followed by Finglas (42.9%), Churchtown, in Dublin, (44%) and Clonmel (45.9%).
