Cronin livestream trad celebration for St Patrick's Day
In a St Patrick's Day like no other, Cronin have planned a live-stream event featuring the best of Irish music from some of the best trad musicians across Ireland and the UK.
The global live stream event celebration of Irish music is brought to you by Longford Mullingar band Cronin, brothers Johnny and Mick Cronin, Fiachra Milner and Brian Murphy.
Recorded live from Transmission Rooms Studio in Drumlish for St Patrick's weekend, this one-off special brings the best of Irish music live to your living room.
For one night only they are teaming up with Irish Trad maestro Kane O'Rourke to bring you a set of the best of the Irish songbook with a few special guests joining them via the power of Zoom including seven-times All Ireland winning Sean Gavaghan on piano accordion, Bible Code Sundays' Andy Nolan on button accordion, and Kieran O'Malley on violin.
Like most of the music industry Cronin have had no live shows since March 2020. They normally play shows across Ireland, the UK and Europe during this period, but with the current restrictions this has not possible yet again this year.
Fear not! Cronin have come up with a remedy to bring the best of Irish music live to your living room or wherever you may be. Expect to hear the music of The Pogues, U2, Van Morrison, Thin Lizzy, The Waterboys, The Clancy Brothers, The Dubliners,The Undertones, Christy Moore, and more!
"Around this time of year we would normally be getting ready to pack the van for a week of gigs across Ireland and the UK, as we have done for the last 10 years," explains frontman Johnny Cronin.
"That won't be happening for the second year in a row but we couldn't let this St Patrick's Day go by without doing something, so for one night only we are doing a set of classic Irish songs live from the heart of Ireland. We hope you will come and join us and celebrate the best of Irish for St Patrick's 2021 celebrations."
This multi-camera live stream event was recorded at Transmission Rooms recording studio in Drumlish under Covid compliant measures.
