Cllr Ken Glynn, cathaoirleach, Westmeath County Council.

Cathaoirleach Awards 2020 go online next Friday

The Westmeath County Council Cathaoirleach Awards for 2020 couldn’t be held last year due to the pandemic, and will be streamed online on Friday June 11 at 7pm. To join in, use the link https://youtu.be/sF2QPlJC4P0 or go to the Westmeath County Council website www.westmeathcoco.ie for access details.

The Cathaoirleach Awards honour people or groups who have given special service in their community in County Westmeath. They recognise the role individuals and groups play in helping to create a strong and vibrant community.

The awards go some way to recognising the involvement of individuals and groups and how they can influence others to become involved and active in their communities.

The Cathaoirleach Awards Group/ Person of the Year and Project of the year results will be announced live – and you can be among the first to know the results.

This is a free event and the council hopes as many groups and individuals as possible will join in to see their community representatives being recognised and acknowledged for their tireless work within our Communities.

Contact the Westmeath County Council Community Development Section at communitygrants@westmeathcoco.ie or telephone 0449338939 for enquiries.
