Club Iarmhí seeking support for its annual golf classic
Club Iarmhí - the Westmeath GAA Supporters Group - recently launched its annual Golf Classic, which takes place in Mullingar Golf Club on Friday, July 9.
This year’s classic is, again, sponsored by O’Brien’s Renault, Mullingar. O’Brien’s Renault, the longest-serving Renault dealership in Ireland, has become synonymous with Westmeath GAA through its sponsorship of all county teams from U17 to senior level. Club Iarmhí and Westmeath GAA are delighted to have them on board as Golf Classic sponsors.
Speaking at the launch, Westmeath GAA chairperson Frank Mescall said: “We are very grateful to Club Iarmhí for the outstanding work they do in garnering much-needed finance for the support of the GAA in the county.
“As well as being a vital fundraiser, the Golf Classic is a very welcome and enjoyable social occasion in the calendar. We thank O’Brien’s Renault dealership in Mullingar for their support of the classic, and, of course, their ongoing sponsorship of all our county teams.”
O’Brien’s Motor Group General Manager David Mullen said: “O’Brien’s Renault are proud and delighted to continue our backing of Westmeath GAA by sponsoring the Club Iarmhí Golf Classic. We encourage all Westmeath GAA supporters to come out on July 9 and lend their support to the classic which takes place in the superb Mullingar Golf Club.”
Golf Classic organiser Des Maguire stated that everyone involved in Club Iarmhí is looking forward to another exciting day of golf on July 9.
“We encourage all our clubs to enter a team, and by doing so, they will help with their support of Westmeath GAA. We want to give a special thanks to Paul McGann, and all the committee and staff of Mullingar Golf Club for their assistance with the Club Iarmhí Golf Classic,” said Mr Maguire.
