Municipal District Mayor joins online meeting

Cllr Liam McDaniel made a welcome return to the April online meeting of Athlone Moate Municipal District from his hospital bedside last week.

The Kilbeggan-based Fianna Fail Cllr, , who is the Mayor of the Municipal District, has been absent from a number of meetings over the past number of months due to ill-health, but he imparted the happy news that he is hoping to leave hospital “within the next three to four weeks” and is hoping to be able to resume his Mayoral duties shortly after.

In his absence, Deputy Mayor, Cllr Aengus O’Rourke has been chairing the municipal meetings. “It’s great to see you looking so well, Liam, and I’ll be happy to vacate this Chair on your return” said Cllr O’Rourke.
