Opening sheep sale of 2022 at Delvin Mart

The opening sheep sale at Delvin Mart was last Thursday, and the staff there said it was “like the good old days, both new and old customers buying and selling”.

Thomas Potterton reported that sale attracted a big entry and there was strong competition for all lots on offer.

In the main ring light store bullocks peaked at €3.28 per kilo, with heavy bullocks topping €3.12 per kilo. Heifers realised up to €3.02 per kilo while dry cows made up to €2,270 a head. Continental bull calves realized up to €335 a head, while a nice entry of good quality Friesian heifers correct and right for bulling topped €220 a head.
