Fusion Fest and food special at this week’s Railway Market Mullingar

The fortnightly Saturday market at the Bandhall in Mullingar is expanding its food selection and is promising something good for breakfast or lunch or afternoon tea this Saturday, May 21.

Among the new stall holders are 4 Hands Food Studio, founded by Rose Greene and Margaux Dejardin in 2018, at Rathaspick. They produce naturally fermented foods and drinks and offer a range of sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha, probiotic juice, raw apple vinegar, and sprouted whole foods.

Beekeeper Noel Kelly from Belvedere, will have honey tasting at the market on Saturday. Try it with cheese, it’s delicious!

Greene’s Family Farm, Rathowen, are specialist producers of quality free range eggs. The on-farm free range egg packing centre is approved by the Department of Agriculture and Food; all eggs are fully traceable, local and delivered direct to the customer. Quiche and Frittatas will be served at the market from Greene’s Family Farm.

The Railway Market also welcomes Sean Nua Farm, selling fresh seasonal vegetables and free range eggs, and Corleggy Cheese, a small artisan producer of handmade Irish raw milk cheeses who make a range of award winning soft and hard goat, sheep and cow milk cheeses.

Something Sweet? Home baking on the day from Ali’s Kitchen and Maggie’s Bakes, and wash it all down with coffee or tea from Bohemian Lane.

More food options on Saturday will include The Refill Mill; Seamus Bracken’s Butcher; Froggy’s Crepes and Sarah Jane’s Sweets and Treats.

While you are at the market, browse the gifts and crafts; ask about holistic and wellbeing; sniff the beautifully scented soaps and body products; listen to the music and enjoy the atmosphere.
