Mary Daly, principal of Coralstown National School, was delighted with how school’s the fundraising 5k went last night, on its return after the Covid-enforced break.
“This is just a wonderful evening, for a number of reasons – it’s a great fundraiser for the school, it’s a family event, children and parents can take part, as well as all the local people who enjoy running and walking, and on top of that, it’s great to have the event back after the long Covid pandemic.
“It’s a great community event and occasion, and we’re delighted to be here and we’re delighted with the support.
“We’d like to thank all the sponsors and all the people who work so hard to make this event as successful as it is.”
There were a lot of runners from Mullingar Harriers, and from the Coralstown Kinnegad running club, and some from as far away as Dundalk, the North East Runners.
Ms Daly added: “I’ve seen loads of jerseys and vests that I don’t recognise, and to all of those runners and walkers, we’re delighted you came, we hope you had a lovely evening and we thank you for your support.”
