IDA to apply for planning permission for new ABS facility to attract firms to Mullingar

The IDA is set to apply for planning permission for a new Advanced Building Solution (ABS) in Mullingar.

According to a planning notice in last week's Westmeath Examiner, the ABS will consist of office and light industrial/production spaces at the IDA Ardmore Business and Technology Park.

The news that Mullingar was one of 19 destinations selected by the IDA for the construction of an advanced building solution (ABS), a purpose built facility to attract firms from abroad, was announced early last year.

At the time that the announcement was made it was estimated that the ABS will provide up to 200 new jobs for the region and will be worth an estimated €12 million a year to the economy.
