Mullingar Pride parade today on Dominick Street

Mullingar’s first Pride parade takes place today, Saturday July 16, at midday starting from Dominick Street in the town centre.

Everyone is welcome, but those who want to join the march are asked to meet at the Blackhall car park between 11am and 11.30am to be ready for the parade at noon.

The first LGBTQ+ mayor of Mullingar, Ruth ​​Illingworth, will lead the parade as it circles from Dominick Street back around through Grove St in celebration.

The Pride parade will make history in Mullingar this weekend as it is the first ever Pride celebration in the town.

Gates open at the Belvedere House and Gardens for 'Werk! fest' from 3pm where there will be a concert and other colourful activities to enjoy.

This is an eight-hour boutique festival with a main stage, food and beverage area, a family area and there will be a craft fair village with lots of local trade stalls and Pride merchandise.
