The Fianna Fáil man said that that moves are to begin next week to relocate the International Protection residents who have been in Harry’s for the last three weeks.

That is being done in order to provide accommodation for Ukrainian nationals.

“Owing to the large number of Ukrainian arrivals this week, the priorities have changed and the urgent need is to accommodate Ukrainians,” Minister Troy said, stating that the news had been relayed to him by officials from Minister O’Gorman’s Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth.

Minister Troy said the Department now proposes to use Harry's exclusively for Ukrainian families and some singles going forward.

“They would hope to start relocating existing International Protection residents from Harry’s beginning in the middle of next week.”

According to Minister Troy, all of the capacity on site will be used but at present there is no plan to use the ballroom space.
