Local man performs hilarious skit at wedding

John McCabe surprised everyone with an incredible rendition of 'It Should Have Been Me' at a friend's wedding in the Glasson Lakehouse Hotel on Sunday, July 17.

The skit sees John don a dress, blonde wig and heels while lip-syncing the song and berating and hitting best friend Allen Buckley playfully with a handbag while bride Orla Cahill looks on.

According to John, the newly married couple got a great kick out of his performance. “The reaction was great. They loved it. I listened to this song over and over to get the timing and words right for lip syncing it.”

The Collinstown native is no stranger to performing skits at weddings as he previously performed a skit using the iconic 'Eye of the Tiger' track.

“I done the skit as an icebreaker for the crowd to get a bit of fun going. I done another skit back in 2018 for another friend for his wedding so it was kind of expected yet I told nobody except my fiancé Laura.”

The video has received 140,000 views on TikTok to date.
