Vincent's get into the fleadh spirit

The atmosphere is electric here in Mullingar as the countdown to this year’s Fleadh Cheoil continues.

Hotels, shops, restaurants and other businesses are getting ready for the celebrations to kick off this Sunday, July 31.

Many have their fleadh decorations ready to go - including, previous window display winners, the Vincent's charity shop Mullingar.

Store manager Alison Scally and her team at Vincent's have put together an impressive Fleadh Cheoil themed window display to mark the festival.

They created a music seisiún scene in the window with musicians, a bar, lots of instruments and Irish dancers.

It showcases a fantastic collection of Irish dancing shoes, guitars and tin whistles as well as an accordion, a bodhrán, a fiddle and lots of other fleadh related items.

The charity shop team put a huge amount of effort into this display, even dressing their mannequins up as Irish musicians playing the instruments.

Alison's daughter, Ella Scally, painted the window glass with musical notes. She wrote, ‘Fleadh Cheoil’ across the two windows and it looks great.

Everything on the store front was donated to the charity shop by the public over the last three years and it is definitely worth a visit.
