FLEADH 2022: All the way from Tyrone

Áine, Katie and Marina Mohan have arrived at the fleadh all the way from County Tyrone.

Mrs Mohan touched down in Mullingar this morning with her two granddaughters, Áine and Katie to enjoy the girls' first ever Fleadh Cheoil.

The young girls were playing music outside Fagans Office Supplies this afternoon and attracted an impressive crowd.

They were playing a selection of traditional tunes on the fiddle, harp and tin whistle accompanied by their grandmother on the piano accordion.

The trio return home to Tyrone tonight before venturing back to Mullingar again on Thursday to stay until next Tuesday.

Marina Mohan said: “We’re in Mullingar for the girls first ever fleadh. We couldn’t get accommodation until Thursday night but we wanted to come down early so here we are.

“We’re fine with the drive, it’s only a couple of hours and we’re happy.”
