Troy will 'most certainly' run in the next general election

Robert Troy says that he will “most certainly” run in the next general election.

Speaking at the Fianna Fail 'think-in' at the Mullingar Park Hotel yesterday, Deputy Troy, who resigned from his position as Minister of State with Responsibility for Trade Promotion last month after a series of revelations concerning his failure to fully declare his property interests, confirmed that he intends to contest the next election.

Commenting about the revelations that led to his resignation, Deputy Troy said:

“For my own part, I dealt with the unintentional errors that I made. I issued a fulsome apology, and I do so again today.”

Deputy Troy said that Fianna Fail has a “very serious agenda on the cards” for the gathering in the Park Hotel and that the party was “focused on dealing with the challenges faced by so many of our citizens”.
