Irish culture displayed through art at Mo Phaisean gallery

Last Saturday afternoon, Tommy Corcoran of Mo Phaisean Art Gallery in Milltownpass hosted an exhibition of more 100 paintings by celebrated Irish artists past and present. Tommy, who has built the collection over 20 years, described it as “Irish culture displayed through art”.

Art lovers from Westmeath and beyond visited to enjoy paintings by artists such as Maurice Canning Wilks, James Bingham, Victor Richardson, John B Yeats, Jack Yeats, John Francis Skelton and others. Many of the works were available for sale and a number did change hands on the day.

Tommy said: “It was a pleasure to share the art with those who came along. Everyone seemed to enjoy the afternoon and many had a glass of wine and a bite to eat after viewing the paintings. We were lucky as the sun was shone down on us and I was delighted with the turnout.”
