Presentation of cheques at the Abbey House, Fore

Three amounts of €2000 were presented at a function in the Abbey House, Fore last night, Saturday November 26, to local schools and the church restoration fund.

The total of €6000 was proceeds from a Halloween event on the Nancy and Nellie walking trail, and a tractor run, both during the October bank holiday weekend.

Rosemary Coffey, a member of the organising committee of both events, was MC of the presentation of cheques event. The cheques were presented to representatives of the Collinstown Fore RC Parish Churches restoration fund; the parents associations at St Feichin’s NS, Fore; and at St Mary’s NS Collinstown.

Along with Rosemary, Stephen Nolan and Darragh Gallagher, on behalf of the organising committee, presented the cheques.

Representing Collinstown Fore RC Parish Churches restoration fund was Fr Michael Carley, PP, Collinstown Fore RC Parish.

Representing the St Feichin’s parents were Donald Corrigan and Louise Gallagher.

Representing the St Mary’s parents was Stephen Maxwell.

Rosemary Coffey and Fr Carley addressed the attendance, expressing thanks to everyone who helped to ensure the success of the Nancy and Nancy Halloween Walk, and the tractor run.
