New RTÉ show looking for people to date rural singletons

A Mullingar man is one of the participants on Love In The Country, a new dating show coming to RTÉ, and the producers are on the hunt for people who might be interested in dating him or one of the other six.

Andy Fox, who also took part in the Westmeath Bachelor Festival this year, is a suckler farmer and a taxidermist from Ballinea, and in his profile on the RTÉ website says he “is ready to settle down and is looking for a woman to build a home and a family with”.

“He loves country music and jiving. He’s always up for the craic, and he isn’t short of road frontage either!”

Andy also revealed some details about himself as a Westmeath Bachelor entrant earlier this year. He said he had travelled to the US to qualify as a taxidermist, and a well as working in that area, he helps on the family farm.

“I’d describe myself as an outdoors person, and I go to the gym most evenings. I live at home with my Mam, Dad and sister on the farm, where I play a pivotal role. I’m always up for the craic and love socialising at the weekends with friends and meeting new people.

“I like country music and jiving. I’m always up for a bit of craic and a laugh. I entered the competition because I’ve been told by many that I tick all the boxes and have the personality! I’m the original Bachelor, working for the family and somewhat of a home bird.”

Love In The Country is based on the Fremantle Media reality show Farmer Wants a Wife, but in this case it’s not just farmers looking for love. The seven singletons are from various backgrounds but the one thing they have in common is they are all living in rural Ireland.

The seven are: Andy (39); Rob (32) a pharmacist and part-time farmer from west Cork; Alanagh (20), a veterinary nursing student and sheep farmer; George (36) from Carlow; Fiona (32), a restaurant and pub owner in Donegal; Jano (22), a coffee shop owner and part-time farmer; and Edwina (49), a café owner from Mayo.

Their dating profile videos are here.

If you are interested in dating one of them, fill in the contact form or email countrylove@kiteentertainment.com and one of the team will be in touch.

Filming is due to take place early January so get in touch soon.
