Loads on in Collinstown and Fore this weekend

Events on in the Collinstown and Fore areas this weekend include a charity Christmas poker classic and a visit from Santa, and the Christmas lights will be switched on this evening. Don't forget either the Collinstown Christmas Market at the local hall on Sunday December 11.

Collinstown Christmas Lights

Collinstown Christmas Lights will be officially turned on at 7pm today, Friday December 9. Hot chocolate will be served. Santa, despite a busy schedule, is taking time out to arrive in Collinstown at 7.15pm.

Collinstown Christmas Market

A second Collinstown Christmas Market takes place at Collinstown Hall, 12 noon to 6pm, Sunday December 11.

Santa will be back on a trike with Dromone MCC for Collinstown Christmas Market this Sunday December 11 (visiting 3.30 -4.30pm). He will have a treat for boys and girls and it’s free. Ray Dolan #fromMullingarinMullingar will also be calling by to enjoy the festivities in Collinstown.

Visit Santa in Fore

Santa will be at the Abbey House in Fore on Sunday December 11 at 3pm. Admission is €3 and Christmas refreshments will be served. All proceeds will go to Ballycomoyle underage GAA.

Charity Christmas Poker Classic

A Charity Christmas Poker Classic in aid of the Jack and Jill foundation is taking place in the Seven Wonders Bar in Fore on Sunday December 11 at 5pm. Refreshments will be served and there will be a raffle on the night. Tickets available from the Seven Wonders Bar.

Carol service at St Feichin’s Church, Fore, on Sunday December 18 at 7pm.

Collinstown Pitch and Putt Club cards for their 2022 Christmas raffle are on sale. There are a large number of top quality prizes.

Hurling and camogie clubs’ lotto draw

Local hurling and camogie clubs’ lotto draw, for a jackpot of €1400, was at Collinstown Hall on Sunday November 27. Numbers drawn, 15, 24, 26, 30. The jackpot was not won. One Match 3 winner won €150, Johnnie Dermody, Kilpatrick, Collinstown, online. Next draw, jackpot of €1500, at Collinstown Hall on Sunday December 18, at 9pm. That is the 2022 Christmas lotto draw, and tickets purchased for it, the last lotto draw of 2022, will be entered into a draw for a total of 15 Christmas prizes.

Senior Citizens Christmas

Collinstown Hall was well decorated and presented for the Collinstown Fore Senior Citizens Christmas function, last Sunday, December 4. Thus is the first such event that has taken place since 2019. As ever, the meal was superb. Well done to the committee who organised the function.
