Deadline for submissions on Draft Residential Zoned Land Tax approaching

The deadline for landowners and others to make a submission about whether lands on the Residential Zoned Land Tax Draft Map meet the criteria for being subject to the new tax is Sunday January 1.

The Draft Map showing lands in Westmeath County Council’s authority area that will be subject to the tax is available to view on the County Council website.

Landowners should check if their land is on the Draft Map. Homes that are subject to the Local Property Tax are not liable for the Residential Zoned Land Tax.

The Government has introduced the Residential Zoned Land Tax with the aim of increasing housing supply by activating zoned, serviced residential development lands, including mixed-use lands, for housing.
