Local spa is in top three in Ireland

Aqua Sana Spa at Center Parcs, Longford Forest near Ballymahon, was the runner up to The Spa at Ashford Castle, in the Five Star Spa Experience category at the recent Virgin Media Business Gold Medal Awards for 2022. In third place or bronze was ESPA at the Europe, Killarney.

Now in their 33rd year, the awards are recognised as the leading independent awards programme for the Irish hospitality industry.

Other winners from the region included Kilronan Castle in Roscommon, who picked up three awards – bronze in Ireland's Best Four Star hotel category, silver in Ireland's Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant and gold in Ireland's best four star spa experience.

Unusually, there were no Westmeath or Offaly winners across the many categories, which include awards for best hotel breakfast, family friendly hotel, best wine experience, wedding hotel, Ireland's best three star hotel etc, among the myriad of categories.

The Imperial Hotel in Cork was crowned the Supreme Winner at the sold out ceremony.

Judged by industry experts, the Virgin Media Business Gold Medal Awards recognise and reward excellence in hospitality and catering operations across the island of Ireland.
