Delvin camogie celebrate a very successful year

The Delvin Camogie Dinner Dance took place last Saturday evening in the Greville Arms Hotel, Mullingar to celebrate a very successful 2022.

For the first time ever the club won the junior league, championship and Leinster Junior B Championship as well as making it to the All Ireland Final. The dinner dance included a prosecco reception and we had a heroes welcome. The meal was amazing and then the music after by DJ Mark Jones was also brilliant.

It was a full house and we were honoured to have Karen Goldrick and Noeleen McCarthy from the county camogie board in attendance, as well as Linda Kenny from the Leinster Association. Karen Goldrick presented the league and county medals and Linda Kenny presented the Leinster Medals. Our sponsors also were there: Gaffney’s Car Sales, Leavy’s Nearby and Dungannon Plant Sales and the club really appreciates their support. There was also a presentation of All-Ireland silver medals kindly sponsored by Gaffney’s Bar Delvin.

Speeches were from Martin Newman (chairperson of Delvin camogie), while there was a poem from Jimmy O'Grady (manager) and Karen Gaffney (captain). The team also presented awards to players and there was a flower presentation for our sponsors and committee members. Assumpta Dolan was acknowledged as outgoing camogie club secretary - the club really appreciates all the work she has done over the past number of years.
