Women in Business: Inglot

Business is in the blood of Jane Swarbrigg, who with brother Peter is at the helm of the uber-cool cosmetics brand Inglot, which their entrepreneurial mother Geraldine introduced to this country 14 years ago.

Inglot is available at 200 retail outlets across this country and the UK, including Boots and at the Dunnes Stores new Beauty Halls – but a new trend the brand has been exploring to great success is that of the pop-up shop, and this Saturday March 11, they have their latest one, opening at Golden Island shopping centre in Athlone at 11am.

"We have huge turnouts at all these launches because we give away goodie bags for the first 50 customers, and we also have unbelievable discounts in the store. So for example, the Maura Higgins collection is going to be there and the Rosie Connolly collection – two influencer collaborations that we’ve done – and they’re reduced to 50% off which is... phenomenal.

"Essentially these are temporary stores and that’s why they’re getting such a buzz, because they’re only there like six weeks. People want to get in; get these amazing bargains."

The Swarbriggs first experimented with the pop-up notion at Harbour Place in Mullingar during Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann last year, and they were blown away by the reaction: "We stayed there for a month and then we went back at Christmas again for another six weeks," says Jane, who studied PR and event management before gaining the extensive retail experience with Monsoon and Accessorize that proved invaluable when she began on her Inglot journey.
