St Joseph’s trio speak at national event

Three students from St Joseph's Secondary School, Rochfortbridge travelled to Kilkenny on Tuesday to speak at an event organised by the Young Social Innovators.

Mikie Duffy, Brian O'Neill and Daniel Johns spoke on the topic, 'Cheer, Don't Jeer', at the Kilkenny leg of the Young Social Innovators’ nationwide Speak Out Tour.

In total, around 5,000 secondary students from across Ireland are taking part in the tour, which is also visiting Limerick, Drogheda, South Dublin and Sligo over the coming weeks, having already travelled to Dublin City and Cork.

The teenagers are speaking out on social issues affecting them and their communities. Among the topics being tackled are mental health, the housing crisis, gender equality, domestic violence, online safety, upcycling, green spaces, loneliness and much more.
